| About The Purpose and Vision |

        Chang Gung University remained the spirit of “Taken from society, give back to society.”, studied in advanced medical technology and the educational field of a medical professional as the goal. Focus on cultivating medical experts, engineers, management, and other fields’ professionals, to participate in society health service and considered life quality to contribute the society. To encourage the fulfillment of social responsibility, Chang Gung University had established the “Office of University Social Responsibility”, to connect departments in the university and allocate the resources from the university and the community.

       Based on the previous studies, the university social responsibility (USR) work in Chang Gung University aims at the elders and toddlers, the groups who have more requirements of healthcare. Chang Gung University is cooperating with Chang Gung Medical Foundation, to improve the current healthcare of elders and toddlers. To fetch a positive impact on society and improve public health as our major goal, unite school members’ professionals and experiences to develop an influential health care model for the community. However, there have significant relations between university and local community healthcare conditions in practice, therefore we also have to consider community culture and industrial development demands for implementing social responsibility of the university.

       The Chang Gung University USR office is actuated two junior feature programs and four USR Hub programs, we will continue to expand the program coverage and fulfill the responsibility, and building up a platform to share education achievement for the community.

•  Junior Feature Program
  1. “Enhancement of community-based senior health and care system in remote areas”. With “Healthcare interactive investigation” and "Mobile Medical Inspection Services" services, we can reinforce resident’s awareness of their health problem. Besides, a “Health information platform” can share the healthcare information from units, to attach great importance to health problems.
  2. “Innovative social practices for early intervention of children with developmental delays or disabilities and health promotion of children and teenagers”. With "Early Treatment Community Service", “Children's Treatment and Education Technology Intervention” and "Children and Teenager Health Development Promotion", cooperate with cross-school and cross-Institutional, students are to visit the institution, comprehend inspection, referral treatment, and tracking services. In the meanwhile, we considered children’s living habits to provide proper counseling and implementing health assessment and healthcare promotion, enhanced children and teenager’s health awareness.


•  USR Hub
  1. Cultural aspects:
     "The recycling and sustainable business model of Atayal culture applying to social innovation and product development" - preliminary cooperation with local artists – Miru Hayung. By cross-border cooperation in education, create an innovative environment for startup enterprises, to develop new learning styles which differ from the past.
     "Students, schools, communities - Chang Gung University and the surrounding community human ecology building program" - produced with municipal government, non-profit organizations and local temple, published a history book which laden with community memories.
  2. Social orientation:
     Social support for disadvantaged ethnic groups: “Taking Good Care to Autism Children's - Housing Cooperatives in practice” – to dealing with socially disadvantaged groups getting a return to the workplace, and implemented housing cooperatives project, a cross-regional team provided education and training for high-functioning autistic children, taxation assistance, management consultation and other professional knowledge, it could reduce long-term operating expenses.
     “Creating a disability friendly workplace and community” - is to optimize the employment service model, support the employment environment to provide more opportunity for physically and mentally handicapped, also reduce discrimination and society stigma, to achieve the goal of community inclusiveness.
